The Spelling Correction widget presents the result of spell checking to the user. In the dashboard editor the widget does not contain any information and is simply shown as an empty box.
When used in the right context however it presents the user with spelling suggestions:

For this widget to work it depends on the following setup:

The Search Bar needs to trigger spell checking. For this the Spell check option must be enabled on the search bar widget. In the case of a Global Search Dashboard this is always enabled.
The widget makes most sense on a dashboard layer of its own. That layer should be made visible with a visibility condition of Spell check is not empty:
